Price
Their mid-range representative, the RTX 3070, will be released later in October. This information is pretty much in line with what was predicted earlier, although on September first occasion,
RTX 3090
Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that Nvidia’s Ampere top model named RTX 3090 will cost $1499. This is some $300 more than the last age’s best agent RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition. GeForce RTX 3090 or the Big Ferocious GPU (BFGPU) is said to be the world’s first GPU capable of playing blockbuster games at 60 fps in 8K resolution.
The RTX 3090 is up to 50 per cent faster than the current ultimate PC graphics card and comes with a silencer, i.e. a three-slot, dual-axial, flow-through design that is up to 10x quieter than the TITAN RTX.
RTX 3080
The apparent flagship of the Ampere series will be RTX 3080 and will cost $699 which is on the same level as Turing’s RTX 2080 on its launch. Another thing that is extremely interesting is the ‘flagship’ label.
Built on a custom 8N manufacturing process, the flagship GeForce RTX 3080 has 28 billion transistors. It connects to Micron’s new GDDR6X memory, which is known to be the fastest graphics memory ever made and is said to be the ultimate gaming GPU, i.e. up to 2x faster than the RTX 2080.
RTX 3070
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 is powered by Ampere, NVIDIA’s second-gen RTX architecture. Starting at $499, RTX 3070 is built with enhanced Ray Tracing Cores and Tensor Cores, new streaming multiprocessors, and high-speed G6 memory.
New GeForce Tools
Nvidia Reflex:
Nvidia Reflex is a suite of GPU, G-SYNC display, and software technologies that measure and reduce system latency in competitive games. NVIDIA Reflex features two major new technologies – NVIDIA Reflex SDK and NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer. It reduces and measures rendering latency, detects the clicks coming from the user’s mouse and then measures the time it takes for the resulting pixels to change on the screen.
Nvidia Omniverse Machinima:
Omniverse Machinima enables gamers across the world to easily master the art of storytelling by using 3D objects, animated by NVIDIA AI technologies.
Nvidia Broadcast:
It is a universal plugin that works with most popular live streaming, voice chat and video conferencing apps. It mainly harnesses AI to build virtual broadcast studios for streamers.
Wrapping Up
Popular video games like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Minecraft, among others turned on NVIDIA RTX real-time ray-tracing technology. On a concluding note, Huang stated that the second-generation NVIDIA RTX fusing programmable shading, ray tracing and AI would provide photorealistic graphics and the highest frame rates simultaneously.
Huang said, “In this future, GeForce is your holodeck, your light speed starship, your time machine.” He added, “In this future, we will look back and realize that it started here.
Specifications
There are a few guessed specs that have been spilled to people in general and these strongly propose something like what Nvidia has done in the past with their RTX 2000 arrangement most definitely. It’s been intensely conjectured that the three GA102 cards will be the second Generation Titan RTX, the RTX 3090, and the RTX 3080. Despite the fact that there has been no notice of this present age’s Titan card, the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 have formally been reported.
speculated
After the official launch event, it’s being speculated that RTX 3090 is, in fact, this generation’s Titan variant. This likely shut down the door of Ti/Super suffixes losing their place, but nothing has been announced yet so we have to wait and see. Some other information that came from the launch is that the RTX 3000 series will be equipped with GDDR6X memory, although RTX 3070 will stick with GDDR6.
Micron (memory manufacturer) came out in August with a document suggesting that RTX 3090 will be equipped with GDDR6X memory with 21 Gbps. It turned out to be 24GB of GDDR6X at 19.5 Gbps, which is still insane.
Another thing that is overlooked a bit is that 19.5 Gbps memory speed which is more than 30% improvement over Nvidia’s previous generation’s best representative, the RTX 2080 Ti.
The series is powered by the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, also known as the largest 7-nanometer processor in the world. According to this blog post, the GeForce RTX 3090, 3080 and 3070 GPUs are said to have smashing performance records and have the capability to deliver up to 2x the performance. It is also said to provide 1.9x power efficiency over previous-generation GPUs.
Also, the GPUs take advantage of the second generation of NVIDIA RTX, which is the world’s most powerful PC gaming platform in order to provide unprecedented levels of real-time ray tracing and AI gaming.
Lenovo likewise released the presence of an unannounced RTX 3070 Ti which highlights 16GB of GDDR6 memory. It might likewise referring to the unannounced RTX 3070 SUPER, however that remaining parts indistinct.
Power consumption is the 12-pin power connector required for the RTX 3080.Although it was originally speculated that two 6-pin power connectors would work just fine, it has now been confirmed that RTX 3000 series will require the brand new 12-pin power connector. It has been confirmed that the new 12-pin connector will only be present in the RTX 3080 FE and the RTX 3090 FE and that it will be called “Nvidia 12-pin PCIe Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 Connector”. An adapter will be included so it’s still possible to use the cards without replacing your PSU. AIB cards will use traditional 8-pin connectors.
One thing that is certain is that these GPUs will require a PSU with at least 650W of intensity which implies that a few people will have the extra issue of overhauling their PSU.
It has confirmed on its website that RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 will consume 350 and 320 Watts respectively and that both will need a total PC power of 750W while the RTX 3070 will need 220W and a total power supply of 650W.
Despite the fact that it hasn’t been formally declared, it is accepted that third-party cards will highlight a more regular two-fan or three-fan plan. The picture beneath shows Gainward’s RTX 3090 graphic card, which includes a customary three-fan structure.
From the image above, it appears that the RTX 3090 will take up three slots and possibly requiring people to further upgrade their case to accommodate their new card’s size. Although this has now been confirmed to be true, we need to state that the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 will take up less space and therefore only two slots.
NVCache
The rumors about NVCache began back in May, and over the long haul, they show up more and clear. On paper, this seems to be the push that will dispatch the idea into the standard. And that concept is something else. The idea is that the GPU will dynamically utilize the bandwidth from system RAM, VRAM, and SSD to execute multiple tasks simultaneously at a much higher speed.
This is presumably a response to PlayStation 5’s custom memory solution that is said to be able to increase the loading speed a hundredfold (compared to PS4). Of course, those are Sony’s claims, but we’ll have to see both how the console and the PC market will handle this technology jump.
Tensor Memory Compression
This tech will apparently tensor cores for compression and decompression of VRAM stored items. Roughly suggest that this application of tensor cores could lead to anywhere between 20-40% less VRAM usage.
DLSS 2.0
During the official September 1 launch event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang heavily touted DLSS 2.0 as the key for high-FPS 8K gaming. However, it should be noted that this technology still hasn’t proved itself, despite the lofty promises. Some key rumors regarding DLSS 2.0 are that it should work with any game that has TAA (temporal anti-aliasing), but that a game ready driver will be required. It might be slow, but it’s still a work in progress.
Benchmarks
Early looks propose that dependent on benchmarks, the RTX 3080 proposals around 80-100% better performance than over the RTX 2080. However, that is without appropriate drivers as they’re not prepared at this point so you’ll need to hang tight for more execution benchmarks as we draw nearer to the delivery date.
We’ll update this section once we get hold of more benchmarks.
