YouTube introduces guidelines for AI-generated deepfakes
YouTube has announced that it will be implementing two sets of content guidelines for AI-generated deepfake videos. In a blog post, the company stated that one set of rules will be very strict, specifically designed to protect the platform’s music industry partners, while the other set will be looser and apply to everyone else. The main requirement will be for creators to label “realistic” AI-generated content when uploading videos, with a particular emphasis on topics such as elections or ongoing conflicts. The labels will be displayed in video descriptions and on top of the videos for sensitive material, although no specific definition of what constitutes a deepfake was provided.
