This comes after Microsoft has hired ousted OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and former OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman to lead a new “advanced AI research team.” The news was reported on by Wired and journalist Kara Swisher.
In a letter to OpenAI’s board, more than 500 current OpenAI staffers expressed their intention to leave the company if the board does not reinstate Altman and Brockman and then resign. However, the board has already made its choice to remain in place and has named a new CEO, leaving Altman and Brockman out.
