How to register for the PlayStation India Hero Project
The India Hero Project’s application process is now open. Here are all the specifics regarding the funding amount, procedure, eligibility, application process, and publication scope.
To begin with, in order to be eligible for the program, you must be a game developer located in India. International businesses, however, can also sign up for the program if they have teams in India.
International teams are welcome to compete, but SIE has stipulated that at least half of the game development process must take place outside of India.
Here is where you can register for the India Hero Project.
Additionally, interested game developers and studios must register as PlayStation Registered Developers; you can do so by clicking this link.
Funding process
According to Sony’s official FAQ page, Indian game developers who want to sign up for this program can receive funding of at least $100,000 (₈₹82 lakh).
Developers will receive funding based on predetermined milestones. Following a review, funds will be allocated in accordance with each milestone.
Developers who have registered can get in touch with India Hero Project to check the status of their application. Those who make the short list must give SIE a pitch deck and budget. The game build will then be examined before the funds are approved.
Eligible games
SIE’s India Hero Project supports all game genres including RPG, simulation, puzzle-based gameplay, FPS, and more. Sony has clearly stated that it does not support “gambling, Real Money Gaming (RMG), or games with explicit content.”
Publishing
Since India Hero Project is a development funding program, it cannot ensure that Sony will release your game.
Though it will be “discussed on a case-by-case basis at a later time and will be subject to additional criteria,” Sony notes that getting your game published is a possibility.
